Assignment - is an agreement between Medicare and doctors, other health care providers, and suppliers of health care equipment and supplies (like wheelchairs, oxygen, braces, and ostomy supplies). Doctors and suppliers who agree to accept assignment accept the Medicare-approved amount as payment in full for Part B services and supplies. You pay the coinsurance and deductible amounts. In some cases (such as if you have both Medicare and Medicaid), your health care providers and suppliers must accept assignment

Co-Payment - is the amount that the Medicare recipient is responsible to pay after Medicare has paid their portion of cost for medical services.

Deductible - is the amount that the Medicare recipient has to pay before Medicare will pay for medical services.

Medicare - are healthcare benefits earned during your working life, or available for a low fee, to cover costs of certain aspects of care for those over the age of 65.

Medicare-approved amount - is the amount Medicare determines is the appropriate charge for services.

Medicare Supplement - is an insurance policy that helps pay your deductibles and co-payments under the Medicare health plan.
